From One Island To The Next

I apologize for my lack of recent posts. Although, given the likely VT readership in the summertime, I may only be asking myself for forgiveness!

I recently accepted orders to return to active duty in the U.S. Coast Guard. It has always been my greatest privilege to have the opportunity to serve. The values of Honor, Respect, and Devotion to Duty instilled during my service years are with me always. I am proud to wear the uniform again as part of an amazing team of Guardians who defend, preserve, protect, save, and deliver for each of you.

I will miss the Vineyard tremendously over the months ahead, especially as she nears her summer’s peak – a time when the fruits of a laborious and irritable spring are the tastiest. However, I must not complain as my new duty station is on Coast Guard Island in Alameda, CA. The weather is nothing short of spectacular here.

Until the next opportunity to return home, I will look towards family, friends, periodicals, and of course VT to stay on top of local happenings.

Enjoy your summer and thanks for reading.
