Obama Comes and Goes

The President of the United States, Barack Hussein Obama, vacationed on Martha's Vineyard last week and all we got is this lousy t-shirt. Most Islanders VT talked to said they didn't even notice he was here, a sentiment that was sadly echoed by business owners.

It was a quiet week for the President and the Island in general. VT is waiting to hear back on the hard numbers for the week to see if there is any measurable increase in traffic to the Island over the presidential week. Anecdotal evidence suggests that retail sales were sluggish. One store owner in Oak Bluffs told VT that when the Pres came though town to have dinner, there were hundreds of people on the street but no one in the store.

Well at least we've got all of these tacky Obama souvenirs to remind us, and remind us, and remind us.
