Kick Ass Party Ends In 4 Arrests

The question is, why wasn't VT invited? The first big party of the season appears to have been at #71 Worcester Ave in Oak Bluffs, on Sunday of all nights. People who party on Sunday do party a little harder than the rest of us. They also don't like to go to jail.

Just after 2:30am Oak Bluffs Police responded to a noise complaint at 71 Worcester. According to police, the owner of the home was told that he and his guests would have to quiet down or face the consequences. VT hypothesizes that the party was probably only at a 6-7 on a scale of 10 at this point. But, nothing really sets a party off like a warning from the police.

A little more than an hour later police responded once again to a noise complaint emanating from #71. According to the report, police heard loud music coming from a speaker placed in a window (awesome way to take the party outside) as well as loud voices laughing and talking. Cops also spot a bon fire. So, now the party is clearly at a 10. Cops informed the homeowner, identified as 54yo Stephen Floodstrom, that the party had reached its climax and would have to end.

VT can only speculate that at this point someone said, "No f$*#@ way!" Because that is when the homeowner, Mr. Floodstrom, became "uncooperative and belligerent" and was arrested after a brief struggle. It is no surprise that his guests were also not ready to leave. 37yo David Sylvia of Edgartown, 31yo Gary Hathaway from Edgartown and 37yo Petrece Peterson from Tisbury were all arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. But the real trombone-bwah-bwah portion of the evening was when the fire truck showed up to put out the bonfire. Why wasn't VT invited?
