A home broken into. Valuables taken. Faucets left running in sinks and tub. Sound familiar? This modus operandi, famously employed Hollywood's Harry and Marv in the first Home Alone movie, has been perpetrated by low-lifes on Island.
Just before 2pm on Saturday, Oak Bluffs police received a call from a homeowner on New York Ave, reporting a break in. The owner of the house apparently returned from off island to find that they had been robbed and their home vandalized. According to police, several items of value were missing. It wasn't enough for these crafty bandits to merely steal and leave behind the emotional trauma that theft can have. No, they had to up the game.
The vandalism reportedly included flooding the entire house by leaving water running in several sinks and bathtubs, plural. The investigation continues.
