Big Drug Bust Bigger Circus
Rough week for the Garde family. First, the kids' heroin business gets busted up, and then dad has a heart attack at the arraignment. The kids, Caleb (24), Daniel (19) and Hannah (22) were arrested yesterday for heroin trafficking. Their home at 139 West Spring Street in Tisbury was raided last night. Police from the Martha's Vineyard Drug Task Force seized rifles, approximately 130 grams of heroin worth more than $30,000 dollars, and more than $45,000 dollars in cash. Oh yeah, and that address is in a school zone, so they have that going for them. The Tisbury school is about 1,000 feet away, but there is also a daycare next door. Also arrested were: Alexander Carlson, 21, of Edgartown; Garret Gibson, 24, of Oak Bluffs; Roseline Gasper, 24, of Tisbury. According to police it was the neighbors who tipped them off. Police then conducted an undercover operation, buying drugs from the suspects.
So, your little drug operation gets broken up and then at the arraignment your dad (Ken Garde) has a heart attack. Meanwhile, Caleb is starting to go through withdrawal and, according to police sources, at least he and Daniel were also transported to the hospital at approximately 11:00am this morning. It doesn't stop there: Edgartown police and medical personnel have also been dispatched to the jail for a report of a male suffering from withdrawal symptoms. VT is still awaiting comment from the DA's office as to what kind of sentencing the family faces.

Wow, that is crazy how an entire family is in the drug business. I hope they get the best treatment they deserve. What they did was wrong, but that shouldn't deny them treatment. There are many drug and alcohol rehabs around. They messed up, but I think they should definitely get treatment before jail.
